Maggie, I'm so sorry that this has been your experience with someone you once loved enough to co-habitate with. I hope that you don't have too much time left on the lease or that you're able to break it, because that is absolutely unnaceptable behavior in a partnership. I have several friends who went through this exact situation, and I wish I could say it gets better. It only ends when you're able to disentangle yourself from him.

I hope that you can get out of there and heal, and I hope that, independantly of you, he finds a way to heal one day.
